Help with placing an order

1. Ordering and making a payment
Every Gallery Page has it's own order form in the pale blue box under the picture gallery. You can order several badges from different pages all in the same transaction. Here's how to do it.

1.1 Add Badges to your order
First, fill out the order form for a badge on the current Gallery page that you want to order, then click the "add to basket" button.

The shopping basket will come up in a new window showing the details of what you have ordered so far.

This is a reduced example of what it looks like.

To add some more badges to your order, click the button to "Continue shopping" and you will come back to the same Gallery page. Do the same thing for each badge on the page.

1.2 Navigating the Gallery Pages
When you have finished with the current page, load up the next Gallery page and use the order from on it to add another badge, and so on until you have everything you want in your shopping basket.

You can load up different Gallery pages using the little pink numbered buttons above the table of badge pictures, or by clicking the main yellow and green menu at the top left.

1.3 Searching the Gallery
If you've seen a badge but can't remember what page it's on, use the pink search button - that's just above the table of badge pictures on the left. Type in the name of the badge you're looking for and the search engine will show you links to any pages where the name appears.

1.4 Checking out
When you've ordered everything you want, click on the "view basket/checkout" button below the order form or the "proceed to checkout" button on the shopping basket. You can then complete the purchase by giving your card details or using your PayPal account if you have one. You can also pay by echeque or bank transfer to PayPal.

1.5 Changing the basket contents
If at any time you change your mind or make a mistake, you can take an order off the shopping cart. Put a tick in the "remove" checkbox next to the unwanted badge by clicking in it, then click on the "update cart" button below the quantity box. The shopping cart will be updated and reloaded.

2. Using the order form
You might find the following helpful if you are pretty new to online shopping. But if you are already familiar with online forms, you can skip this bit.

2.1 Choose a badge type
First, choose the type of product you want - laminated cardboard badge, plastic disk badge, plastic keyring, rectangular 30x70mm name badge, slimline flexi badge, handmade plastic badge, handmade wooden badge or natural solid wood badge.

The cardboard badges are cheapest, but they don't last as long as the other types. Plastic disk badges are cheaper than the handmade ones because they are easier to make. The handmade acrylic plastic badges are a bit cheaper than the wooden ones because they are quicker to make. They are just as good as the wooden ones, and perhaps a bit more hard-wearing.

The wooden badges are more eco-friendly because they are made from timber from sustainable forests that has been recycled for the third time, and of course they are bio-degradable.

To choose the type, drop the list box down by clicking on the little arrow and then click on your choice.

You will notice that the price for the badge has automatically been entered on the form.

2.2 Choose a pattern
Next choose a pattern. This is another list box, so you click on the little arrow to drop down the list of patterns then click on your choice.

2.3 Choose the legend
Now it's time to tell me what you would like written on the badge using the "legend" text box. At the moment it says "name etc" but that will be removed as soon as you click in the box.

Most often people like to have their name and sometimes their job or title, but you can have any message you like up to a maximum of 8 words. I always put your name in big capital letters and anything else underneath in smaller lower case letters.

This example shows the legend text box before and after use.

2.4 Special requests
Nearly finished now. Take a look at the "special request" text box. To start with it says "none", and if you are quite happy with your order and don't want anything special you can leave it just the way it is.

If you click in the box "none" will be removed and you can type in your instructions.

If you want different colours from those shown on the Gallery page, or any other changes this is where you tell me about them. You can type up to 40 words explaining what you would like.

If you click on any badge in the Gallery a popup message will tell you what options are available.

If you decide you don't really want to change anything after all, just re-type "none".

This is another "before and after" example.

2.5 Placing the order
Finally, when you're happy with all your selections and what you've typed, click on the "add to basket" button underneath the order form.

The shopping basket page will open in a new window. It can sometimes take a minute or two when the internet is very busy, but don't click the button twice or you will accidentally order two badges the same.

If that happens change the quantity showing in the shopping basket and click on the "update cart" button. There's a picture of the shopping basket near the top of this page showing where that button appears.

When you've finished shopping, check all the details in the shopping basket then click on the "proceed to checkout" button and you can settle up using a card or a PayPal account. You can also pay by cheque or bank transfer to PayPal. You don't need to have a PayPal account to use the shopping cart. There are buttons you can click to use any kind of card, to send a cheque or to send a bank transfer.

3. Custom Badges
If you would like to order a special badge of a new design that isn't shown anywhere in the Gallery, click the "Custom Badge - order online" button at the bottom of the page and use the special order form.

The prices are the same as the regular badges, and you can include a description or send a picture with your order.
